Blame my web host. Blame me.
My web host moved my site to a new server last week (or at least that’s what they purported to do, now I’m not so sure), and in the process I lost some database tables.
It’s my fault for not backing them up, but I’m blaming them for losing them in the first place. I found out today that they were in an old, unsupported ISAM format. Well, guess what? They worked last week!
So now, since I haven’t backed them up, I’m going to be without portfolio for a while. If, god forbid, anyone is actually visiting this site and wants to see it, sorry!
Hopefully this will inspire me to rebuild it better than before. Maybe (or not) it will even inspire a rethinking of that whole portion of my site. We shall see. Time will tell.
The only thing I do know is that I’m on my last legs dealing with the not-so-wonderful service of my aforementioned host, and am already planning my escape.
