No, I’m not the first person to come up with this idea, but hey, I’ve been doing it in classrooms all my life, so why not take it to South By? So here’s my first attempt at conference sketch notes. They’re not quite as schmancy as they could be, and I often stopped to listen when I could’ve been drawing, but whatever.
Today felt like one of those days to put the iPod on and see what popped up. The following is a completely random selection of 13 tracks from my iPod (which currently holds 14,453 songs), followed by my comments. Given the fact that I have so many tracks to choose from, there are bound to be surprises, even for me.
I'm going to try and read most of the books on Lostpedia's literary works list. I've already read a few, including Bad Twin, but this is the first formal exercise in my own little Lost Book Club. SPOILER ALERT: If you want to not be lazy and actually read the book, stop now.
I saw some amazing performances in 2007, more than 30 in all. That may not sound like much, but when you’re seeing movies, watching tv, listening to music, reading books and playing games, time fills up. I used to just list my favorite concerts of the year, but I thought that was short-changing all the other forms of live art: theatre, comedy, spoken word, dance, and so on. So this year’s list is about the best in live art of all kinds.
